How far can you go in the real world with the Aftek Motors Etwo?
A common anxiety of electric vehicle users such as e-scooter riders is range anxiety. Manufacturers often quote very broad ranges and, in real life, performance can widely differ because of parameters such as rider weight, terrain, weather, and riding style. Aftek Motors claims a certain range for the Etwo, but how does that range hold up in day to day use? How close are riders to the advertised range and where are they coming up short? What are Etwo owners doing to get the most out of their range? Here we can talk about how to get the most mileage out of one charge. Potential buyers will be able to use this information to see if the Etwo’s range is enough for their commuting needs, and current owners can use this information to optimize their riding habits.
I get 25 to 30 km on a single charge and that’s pretty much what Aftek advertises. Not bad for my 15 km round trip commute.
It has a decent range, but it falls off a cliff if you're always riding in the fastest mode. I’ve started using the eco mode more often to get more battery life.
I'm heavier rider and in a hilly area. I’m lucky if I can get 20 km per full charge. Less than I expected, definitely.
It’s fine for short trips but I wouldn’t trust it for longer trips. Just in case, I always carry the charger with me.
But if you put it in ideal conditions, I've found that the range is pretty accurate, but throw in some wind or cold weather, and it drops about 20%.
I’ve used it for a year, and the range has dropped a little bit. I’m probably getting about 80% of what I was getting when the scooter was new.
The range is great for me! It can go for days with no charge, but I mostly use it for short trips around the neighborhood.
