How does Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder stack up in terms of build quality to its Korean rivals?
For many car buyers, build quality is a big thing, affecting perceptions of safety, durability and value. As a Toyota product, the Hyryder has to be built on the presumption of reliability and solid construction. But it has to contend with established Korean brands such as Hyundai and Kia, which have long histories of offering lots of features and improving build quality. The comparisons often involve things like panel gaps, paint quality, interior materials and how the doors and switchgear feel. The debate goes beyond long term durability but also how well each vehicle might age over time.
Legendary is Toyota's build quality. It feels solid and well put together, better than the Koreans.
I disagree. Hyundai and Kia have really stepped up their game with the new models. Inside the Creta feels more premium than the Hyryder.
It's a mixed bag. The Hyryder's exterior is solid, but the inside plastics are a bit of a letdown compared to the Koreans.
Quality isn’t just how it feels new. Toyota's reliability track record gives me more long term confidence in the Hyryder.
I’ve had both and the truth is that they are pretty close now. It's not as big a gap as it was.
The closing thud of the Hyryder's doors is more reassuring, but I think the Koreans have better paint quality than the Hyryder.
It's subjective, but I like the Hyryder’s minimalist interior better than some Korean models that are busier.
