How does the SP125's rear suspension compare to other bikes in its class?

The SP125's rear suspension has been a topic of debate among riders. Some users report that it feels quite stiff, especially compared to other 125cc commuter bikes. This stiffness can potentially lead to a less comfortable ride, particularly on bumpy roads or during longer journeys. However, Honda claims the suspension is adjustable. But how effective is this adjustment, and does it significantly improve the ride quality? Are there any aftermarket solutions that SP125 owners have found to enhance the rear suspension performance? Let's explore how the SP125's suspension stacks up against its competitors and what owners have experienced in real-world riding conditions.

I've ridden both the SP125 and the Hero Glamour, and honestly, the SP125's suspension feels like a rock in comparison. It's way too stiff for comfort.

As an SP125 owner, I can say the suspension isn't that bad. Sure, it's a bit firm, but it gives better stability at higher speeds. You just need to get used to it.

In fact, the stiff suspension is a good thing for heavier riders or when carrying a pillion. It prevents bottoming out on bad roads.

I tried adjusting the preload, but it didn't make much difference. Honda should've done better here, especially considering the price point.

Compared to my friend's Bajaj Pulsar 125, the SP125 definitely feels harsher over bumps. But it's not a deal-breaker if you're mostly riding in the city.

I installed aftermarket gas-charged shock absorbers on my SP125, and it's a world of difference. Highly recommend this upgrade if you're not happy with the stock suspension.

In fact, the stiff suspension is actually great for spirited riding. It gives better feedback and makes the bike feel more planted in corners.

I think people are exaggerating the stiffness. It's a commuter bike, not a luxury tourer. For its intended purpose, the suspension is perfectly fine.
