For many buyers, in the budget-friendly segment where the Avenger 200 sits, it’s the maintenance cost and reliability that matters a lot. These are issues that can strongly affect the total cost of ownership over time and with it, overall satisfaction with the bike. It is recommended to calculate the frequency of needed services, the cost of spare parts, general durability of bike in different riding conditions, and provide information how many service centers is available. Advantages of the Avenger are often cited as its relatively simple design, as well as its widespread service network. But a few riders have experienced problems with particular components, plus they note that particular maintenance jobs are more frequent or pricey than anticipated. Potential buyers, or just enthusiast, can compare the Avenger's maintenance needs and long term reliability to other competitor motorcycles like the Royal Enfield Classic 350 or the Jawa Forty Two and spark interesting discussions about the real cost of ownership of such motorcycles in this segment.

In my experience the Avenger 200 is a pretty reliable and cheap to maintain. Bajaj parts are cheap and a lot cheaper than some other brands.
