How does the Jaunty S perform in the wet compared to traditional scooters?
It’s tricky to ride in the rain, particularly on two wheels. As an electric scooter, The Jaunty S has different weight distribution and tyre setup than the petrol scooters. Some users have said they feel less stable on wet roads, while others say the lower center of gravity actually helps. The question of water resistance is also there – how does the electrical system hold up in heavy downpours? Monsoon seasons in many parts of India could make or break this for potential buyers. Today I want to talk about riding the Jaunty S in the rain.
Surprisingly, it has proven to be very stable in light rain. It feels planted because of the weight distribution.
I don’t ride in heavy rain at all honestly. Any scooter, electric or not, just isn’t worth the risk.
The tires could be improved wet. I exchanged mine out and it really made a difference.
In moderate rain I've had no issues but I'm always extra cautious. It actually helps control with the regenerative braking.
I think it's definitely more slippery than my old petrol scooter. I have been close a few time on wet corners.
So far, the water resistance has been great. Even caught in a downpour, I had no electrical issues.
The instant torque of the electric motor can be tricky on wet roads if you are not careful, I feel.
It's all about how do you ride. After a while, it's not much different than any other scooter in the rain.
