How does the i20 stack up against rivals when it comes to high speed stability?

Many buyers are high speed stability, particularly those who drive on highways often or like to go spirited. Opinions are divided on the high speed behaviour of the i20, with praise for the comfortable ride often being forthcoming. Some drivers have reported great stability at high speeds, others say it isn’t as planted as some of its competitors. However, this is a very common aspect of the car’s performance, and leads to discussion regarding suspension tuning, aerodynamics, and vehicle dynamics as a whole. As such, the debate extends to comparisons to other popular hatchbacks and even some compact SUVs when it comes to which body style make the most sense for highway use.

I'd say it's above average. It's not sports car level comfortable, but certainly a comfortable long highway trip companion. The balance is good in the setup of the suspension.

At high speeds with a full load it feels strained, but the stability is fine. That impacts the whole experience.

Nothing special, but it's okay. On the highway, I’ve been more confident in some cheaper cars. Above 100 km/h the i20 starts to feel a bit floaty.

I believe it's one of the best in its class in terms of high speed stability. It really helps here, with a longer wheelbase than some rivals.

It's pretty good for a hatchback. However, if highway stability is your major concern, then you may try compact sedans.

It's acceptable, though not exceptional. At high speeds cars like the Volkswagen Polo feel more planted. Light steering doesn't help with confidence.

On highways, I've driven the i20 and it's rock solid at 120 km/h. It’s a very confident steering, with minimal body roll.
