How does the Classic 350 Bobber fare as compared to other factory bobbers out there?

The Classic 350 Bobber now joins a market crowded with factory bobber style motorcycles from several manufacturers. It has the same 349cc engine as the standard Classic 350, making about 20 horsepower, but many of its bobber competitors have larger engines and more power. Another Indian made bobber is the Jawa Perak, which also has a 334cc engine, but with a bit more power. But international options like the Triumph Bonneville Bobber or Indian Scout Bobber not only have a much larger engine, they have considerably more performance. It begs the question of how the Classic 350 Bobber will compare for riding experience and overall performance. Of course, Royal Enfield bikes are not about outright performance, but torquey, relaxed riding character, so some question if the 350cc engine does not offer enough grunt for the bobber style, which is often associated with more powerful, more muscular riding. Classic 350 Bobber's other USPs — styling, heritage and affordability — vis a vis its performance which falls a tad short in the bobber segmen.

While the price is the main issue here and the performance is adequate. It’s not trying to be a big bore bobber from Triumph or Indian.

I believe RE missed an opportunity here. A more powerful engine would have allowed them to make a real statement.

It is disappointing that they lack the power. The attitude of a bobber should be matched by some grunt.

This is great for beginners or anyone who desires the bobber look without the intimidation of performance. Not everyone needs to be a tire shredder.

I’ve ridden both this and the Jawa Perak. It's not that much more powerful, but more refined.

Performance isn't everything. The Classic Bobber is a laid back cruiser more than a raw power machine.

The engine is underpowered for a proper bobber experience and the 350cc engine. At least they should have used the 650 twin for this.

You can’t say it really compares to big international bobbers. It's got plenty of pep for city riding for the Indian market.
