How does the Ariel Atom 3 measure up to motorcycles in the driving experience?
As a rider of both, the Atom 3 is the closest you can get to a motorcycle in four wheels. There’s the wind in your face, the immediate response, the feeling of vulnerability.
It's a completely different beast. The Atom can not compare with the freedom and maneuverability that motorcycles provide. The Atom is more of a stripped down car than a four wheeled bike.
Atom 3 provides you motorcycle thrills with less risk. It has the exposed feeling and raw performance, but with the stability of four wheels. It's a great middle ground.
I’ve tracked them both, and the Atom is insanely fun, but it doesn’t quite give you the full motorcycle experience. The sensation of the lean angles and body positioning by a bike is something that the Atom can’t replicate.
Motorcycling with training wheels is the Atom 3. It's intense and exposed, and you don't have to balance or fall over. It's a good gateway for car guys to getting into bikes.
The Atom combines car and bike sensations in a unique manner. It's the open air rush of a bike with the g forces and cornering of a car. It’s its own category of thrill.
Being someone who has owned both, I would say the Atom 3 is more accessible than a high performance motorcycle. You can drive at the limit much easier without the same risk of lowsiding or highsiding.
It's apples and oranges. The Atom 3 is exciting as it is, but it doesn’t feel like leaning into a corner on two wheels or the freedom of lane splitting. This is a different kind of thrill.
