How does the Aprilia SR 160 fare in wet conditions as compared to other scooters?
Any two wheeler can be challenging to ride in wet conditions but especially so if you are a performance oriented scooter like the Aprilia SR 160. With all its fantastic power and sportiness, some riders are left wondering how it performs when the roads are slick with rain. This is a common question in moist regions with torrential rain or in the monsoon season. Tire grip, braking performance and overall stability in the wet are very important considerations. The SR 160's wider tires and responsive handling also win praise from some riders, who say the bike makes them more confident in the rain. Some say its powerful engine and lightning fast acceleration can be quite a handful on slippery roads. This always gets people talking about riding techniques, what tires they run, and whether the scooter’s ABS is good enough in those situations.

In fact, I much prefer riding the SR 160 in the rain than my old scooter. It just makes me feel more solid with the better suspension and wider stance. You just need to be extra careful when braking.

It’s a bit of a double edged sword. In dry conditions it's fun, with power and handling, but in the wet it's a handful. If you respect the conditions, it's manageable, though.

I can say that changing to better quality tires has made a huge difference in wet weather performance. I wouldn’t say the stock tires are bad, they’re okay, but you could definitely go better.

One of the reasons I love the SR 160 is its handling in wet conditions. The thing feels planted and stable, way more than the other scooters I’ve ridden. Just have to be smooth with the throttle.

I think it’s more the rider rather than the scooter. The SR 160 is fine if you know how to handle power in wet conditions. It’s definitely not as forgiving as some other scooters.

It's okay, but not great. If not careful the power can be a bit much on slippery roads. Honestly, I feel more confident on my friend's Activa in the rain.

I have been riding my SR 160 through some pretty wet downpours and it rides pretty good. Fortunately, the ABS is a lifesaver, and the wider tires definitely do help with grip.
