How do Indian road conditions suit the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro?

by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
In India, any vehicle needs to be able to navigate through various and at times difficult road conditions, and the performance of the Jaunty Pro in this regard has provoked a lot of discussion. Some users have shared their experience of how the scooter tackles potholes, speed bumps, waterlogged roads in the monsoons and unpaved roads. The suspension system, ground clearance and durability of tires are debated. However, some riders are praising its stability and maneuverability in heavy traffic, while still others are concerned with its performance on much longer rides or highways. Weight distribution of the scooter and the effect that has on handling have also been topics of contention. But this conversation also extends to how well electric scooters are being adapted for the Indian road conditions and whether manufacturers such as Amo Mobility are doing enough to tackle these unique challenges.

It's all about expectations. But if you're used to riding a high end motorcycle, yeah, the Jaunty Pro will feel a bit underwhelming on rough roads. It's pretty solid, but compared to other e scooters I've tried.

It actually handles waterlogged streets pretty good. The battery and motor are well protected. I just wish the mudguard was a bit bigger to stop splashing.

In my experience the tires are the weak point. On smooth roads they're fine, but I've had to replace one already after hitting a particularly nasty pothole. Wish they were more durable.

I believe people expect too much. This isn't an off road vehicle, it's an electric scooter. The Jaunty Pro can handle Indian roads for what it is. It's just a bit more careful then with a traditional scooter.

For city riding, it's great. Super nimble in traffic. I once took it on a highway and it felt a bit unstable at higher speeds, but it worked. Definitely more of an urban commuter.

It's okay on normal roads, but I wouldn't trust it on really bad stretches, eh. Some of the monster potholes we get during monsoons are a little low on the ground clearance.

Bangalore has seen me push my Jaunty Pro through some pretty rough patches, and it’s held up surprisingly well. It's not luxury car smooth, but it does the job.
