How comfortable is the Avenger 200 for those long rides on other bikes in this class?
For many riders, comfort is key, especially if you’re a long distance touring or city commuter. The Avenger 200 is touted as a comfortable cruiser with cruiser style ergonomics. But opinions are all over the map depending on what you like, how you ride, and what your physical characteristics are. Comfort, like most things, is relative, and dependent on various factors, such as seat cushioning, handle bar position, foot peg placement, and overall riding posture. Moreover, rider comfort depends a great deal on the bike's suspension, its ability to even out road imperfections, particularly on longer rides. Given that, comparing the Avenger’s comfort with other bikes in its class, say the Royal Enfield Classic 350 or the Jawa Forty Two, can help potential buyers and enthusiasts to have a meaningful conversation.
In this segment, the Avenger is hands down the most comfortable bike I have ridden. That's a low seat height and a relaxed riding position that makes long rides a breeze.
It’s a comfortable ride for shorter riders, but longer riders may feel cramped on long rides. I don’t like the footpegs a little too far forward.
I find the stock seat is too soft for really long rides. At first it feels great, but after a few hours you start to feel it. A world of difference is made by an aftermarket seat.
The Avenger's comfort is good, but the higher speed vibrations become a problem on longer rides. Although it is fine for city use.
At the price, the Avenger's comfort is impossible to match. More expensive bikes are better, but for the budget rider, it’s a good option.
In fact, I prefer the Classic 350 for long rides. Because of its low stance, the Avenger can be difficult to see over traffic on the highway.
The Avenger is comfortable but touring without wind protection is a big drawback. A windscreen helps a lot.
