How big is the Skoda Kamiq’s boot? And is it big enough for everyday family life or not as spacious at this money?
For many buyers, especially families or people who often need to move large items, boot space is a big consideration. With the rear seats up, the Skoda Kamiq has boot capacity of 400 liters, or 1,395 liters with them folded down. On paper, these numbers are impressive, but in reality, real world usability can differ from statistical figures. The space is more practical when considering boot shape, height of the load lip, and the flexibility of the seating arrangements. Kamiq's clever storage solutions and variable boot floor earn plaudits from some users; others think rival models are more usable. There’s also discussion of the balance between passenger comfort and cargo capacity, as some competitors have bigger boots — but at the expense of rear legroom. Now, we will discover if the boot space of the Kamiq is enough for its target audience and how it measures up against its class rivals.
As a family of four, the Kamiq’s boot is more than adequate for us. It’s got no problem with a couple of suitcases for weekend trips and easily swallows our weekly grocery shop. There’s also the adjustable boot floor.
To be honest, I’m a bit disappointed with the boot space. It's not bad, but my old Renault Captur had a bigger boot. Now that I’m packing for longer trips, I have to be more strategic.
Although the raw numbers aren't class leading, the Kamiq's boot shape is very practical. And it's nice and square so you can actually use all the space. And the low load lip makes for easy loading and unloading of heavy items.
The Kamiq finds a good balance between boot space and rear passenger room for me. They may not have as big boots as some rivals, but they don't come with as little rear legroom. I’d rather have comfortable passengers than a few extra liters of space.
The Kamiq’s boot is a bit lacking as I regularly carry sports equipment. For everyday use it's fine, but if I have to carry my bike, I have to take the front wheel off. A little more hassle than some of the larger SUVs.
The boot space is decent, but I’m most impressed with the little touches. Super useful features including hooks for shopping bags, removable LED light and double sided boot floor mat make everyday life easier.
I think people are too hung up on boot capacity numbers. In real world use, the Kamiq's boot is big enough for most situations. If you're not a regular furniture hauler, it's plenty big for a compact SUV.
