First and foremost: Is the Aston Martin DBX a ‘real’ Aston Martin?
by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views23 comments
The Aston Martin DBX is a very expensive SUV, and it is squarely in the ultra luxury SUV segment. This question seeks to find out if the price being asked for the vehicle is justified by the features, performance, and experience. This opens the debate about the DBX’s value proposition versus its direct rivals in the luxury SUV segment, as well as other premium vehicles, including sports cars. First, the DBX is a unique design that offers performance capabilities, interior quality and craftsmanship, technology features, and exclusivity with the Aston Martin brand. It also often extends to whether buyers are paying for the cachet of the Aston Martin name or genuine automotive excellence. This question also taps into the subjectivity of luxury and value in the automotive world, where personal preference and brand allegiance may have something to do with a purchase.

It's all relative. It’s worth every penny if you can afford it and you appreciate what Aston brings to the table.

Daily use? If you happen to be a millionaire and do not mind to visit the shop frequently. They are not meant for commuting but for weekend drives.

It's more reliable than its older Astons, but not quite as reliable as the mainstream luxury brands. They will have some quirks, and expect some occasional issues.

As a high end SUV, it’s as reliable as any other. As long as you keep up on maintenance, it should work for you. Don’t baby it – it’s meant to be driven.

For Aston Martin fans, yes. For everyone else, probably not. For less money there are more practical luxury SUVs out there.

I'd say it's reliable enough. Today’s Astons have come a long way, and the DBX has access to tried and tested components.

Reliability is relative. Compared to a Camry? No. Compared to a Ferrari? Absolutely. Expectations and maintenance is all it is.

Define "reliable." Will it start every morning? Probably. Will it be trouble-free? Doubtful. At heart, it’s still a hand built British car.

I’ve heard it’s solid. Now Aston is using Mercedes engines which helps with reliability. Just don't expect Toyota-level dependability.

I would be wary of using it daily. These are complex machines, and while they’re better than they used to be, they’re not bulletproof.

It’s expensive, but you’re investing in a legacy. This is not just a car, it is a piece of automotive art. That's priceless for some.

Partially. It has the brand and exclusivity factor in, but lacks on tech and practicality compared to some competitors.

I think it does. The price is worth it just for the interior, it’s a bespoke suit to sit in. And the drive? Unmatched in the SUV world.

This depends on what is important to you. Yes, if you want the ultimate in luxury and you don’t mind paying for it. Objectively, though, it’s hard to justify.

No way. At that price, you could buy a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT and have change. For what the DBX offers, it is overpriced.
Kanishkover 1 year ago
Absolutely! It’s top notch craftsmanship and performance. You’re also paying for exclusivity – you won’t see one on every corner.

It’s the outcome when a car company is run by accountants. It's an Aston Martin name only, but it lacks the brand's soul.

While it is a real Aston, it is luxurious and performs well, but it is not an emotional car like their other sports cars.
Divyaover 1 year ago
Real? Maybe. Necessary? Definitely. Aston might not exist in today’s market without the DBX. It’s a compromise, a smart one.
Sakshiover 1 year ago
I would say it is as much an Aston Martin as any of its other models. The DBX adapts, but not at the expense of what makes the brand.
Harishover 1 year ago
It's complicated. While the DBX has Aston Martin design cues and performance, it is a different beast. It is more an evolution of the brand.
Vikasover 1 year ago
No way. Sleek sports cars are what Aston Martin is about, not bulky SUVs. The DBX is nothing but a cash grab to ride the SUV bandwagon.
Sourabhover 1 year ago
Absolutely! While the DBX may be an SUV, like any Aston Martin, it has the brand’s DNA through and through. Did you see how it runs? This is like a sports car on stilts!
