Does the Royal Enfield Classic 350 S do justice to its retro image?
The S Classic 350 is marketed heavily on its vintage looks and heritage and comparisons to British motorcycles of the 1950s and 60s. There are, however, arguments that it doesn't really capture the spirit of those classic bikes — or, that it's more for looks than anything else. The thump of the single cylinder engine, the classic styling cues – some riders like for the fact that it looks and feels authentic. Others will say that the reality of modern components and the ways in which they are made make it feel like a replica rather than a true vintage experience. It often brings up discussions of whether the classic riding experience has been compromised to satisfy modern reliability and emissions standards. One of the main reasons why the bike appeals to so many potential buyers is its ability to actually deliver on the retro promise.
The ride is too smooth, really, to feel truly vintage, but it nails the look.
Close enough for me. That old school feel comes from the sound and vibration.
It is a modern retro and that's perfect for daily use.
A real vintage bike is nothing compared to this, but it’s a good compromise.
It’s just marketing, retro image. It's a fancy clothed basic commuter bike.
I love how it turns heads. Everyone always asks if it's a restored classic.
It is the spirit of old British bikes without the oil leaks and breakdowns.
