Does the Mahindra Jeeto Plus truly redefine the business of small businesses?
It is a versatile mini truck marketed for the entrepreneurs and last mile delivery. The car promises high fuel efficiency, low maintenance costs and a decent payload capacity. So does it really deliver on these claims in real life? Its performance, reliability and all round value proposition vis a vis competitors such as Tata Ace has garnered mixed opinions from many small business owners and drivers. It’s also lauded for its maneuverability in tight city streets, but criticized for build quality. Online forums are buzzing with debate as to whether it is worth the investment for new business owners or if they should just go for used vehicles from established brands. We will look at different points of view on whether or not Jeeto Plus lives up to the hype or is just clever marketing.
I’ve been using the Jeeto Plus for about 6 months now and as a small business owner, I’d have to say it’s been a solid investment. It's no joke about the fuel efficiency, I'm saving a good chunk of money on fuel compared to my old truck. This is also a big plus for my budget, as the low maintenance. It's not perfect, but for the price it's doing the job well.
My Jeeto Plus has given me nothing but trouble. It's sure cheap to run but build quality is questionable. Within the first year I’ve had to deal with rattling noises, electrical issues, and even a breakdown. So, for new business owners, I would suggest to look at used Tata Ace models. They may be expensive up front, but they're meant to last.
The Jeeto Plus is a mixed bag, as you can see. For the size of it, the payload capacity is decent, and it's great for narrow city streets. However, it’s not going to revolutionize your business overnight. It's budget, it does the job, but nothing more, nothing less. You might be disappointed if you expect a miracle worker.
I think the Jeeto Plus gets too harsh of a rap. It gives a lot for the price point. There are some quality issues, but show me a vehicle in this segment that doesn't have any. The right key, however, is maintenance. It’ll serve you well if you take care of it. This has been a game changer for my small delivery business.
For someone who has driven the Jeeto Plus and also driven competitor Tata Ace, I will say that the Jeeto Plus has its place. It’s not the best in every category but it’s a pretty good all rounder. One of the biggest selling points is the fuel efficiency with rising fuel prices. It’s hard to beat for urban deliveries and small loads. Don't expect it to perform like a larger, more expensive truck, though.
