Does the Kia Seltos X-Lines sporty style match up to its performance?

Like all the other Seltos models, the X Line has a more aggressive and sporty exterior design. It has the unique grille, larger alloy wheels and body cladding to look the part of an SUV with performance intent. But owners and enthusiasts are divided over whether the X Line's looks match its athletic performance. It does have a more powerful engine option, but it's argued that the suspension tuning and driving dynamics don't quite live up to the bill of goods it's selling. For its segment, others note, the X-Line represents a good balance of sportiness and practicality. As with so many things in the world of car enthusiasts, there is a disconnect between appearance and performance, some lauding the X Line for injecting some excitement into the compact SUV segment, others seeing more style than substance.

Absolutely! The X-Line has plenty of punch thanks to its turbo engine and the stiffer suspension makes it handle way better than you'd expect from a small SUV.

It's all show and no go. The X Line looks great, but it drives like any other Seltos. I was expecting a more hot hatch feel.

Considering what it is, a compact SUV, the X Line does pretty well. It's not a sports car, but it's quick enough to be fun in a daily driver.

The DCT does jerky feel in city driving but it has decent performance. For something that looks this sporty it’s not as smooth as I’d like.

I believe it’s a good compromise. While not as practical as most SUVs in its class, it is also far sportier. Also, the looks alone make me feel as if I'm driving something special.
