Does the FZS Deluxe have reliability of a Yamaha?

Sukhmandeep Kaur on 15 January 2025 08:37
For a long time Yamaha has been known for making reliable motorcycles and many buyers buy the brand for this very reason. As a relatively new model, the FZS Deluxe has generated plenty of discussion around whether it continues the legacy of reliability. People who own and people who might buy are sharing their experiences and concerns about long term reliability, how often things go wrong, and how well it's built. There are some who praise the bike for trouble free ownership, but others call out specific problems they have experienced. The debate then often turns to comparing the new FZ with previous FZ models and competitor bikes, or the quality of after sales service and availability of spare parts.

Absolutely! I'd had mine for 2 years and not one issue. It starts up every time, no weather's too bad.

It’s reliable, but not as bulletproof as the older FZ models. There has been a little bit of electrical niggles.

The engine is solid, but I've heard that the new LED headlight burns out too soon.

The FZS feels much more solidly built than my friend's Apache. Less rattles and squeaks over time.

Good reliability, except that you can take a risk on getting support from Yamaha when you need. It has an impact on the ownership experience.

My one has 30,000 km on it and just regular maintenance. As of yet, no complaints on reliability.

Some plastic parts feel a bit cheap, but it’s reliable. Long term durability of the body panels is something I worry about.

The new features such as Bluetooth connectivity have opened the doors to more possibilities of failures. For maximum reliability, stick to the standard FZ.
