Does the Exter's unique design help or hinder it?
Hyundai Exter has a unique design that is not found in its segment. Its boxy shape, large grille and distinctive headlight arrangement have been likened to mini-SUVs, European city cars, and just about everything in between. And some people think the design is refreshing, modern, bold, quirky. Some say it's too out there and won't hold up over time. All of this has led some to question whether Hyundai took too big a risk with the Exter’s styling, or whether it’s precisely the kind of standout design that a crowded market needs. It’s also debated how the design will impact practical considerations like interior space and visibility.
I love how the Exter looks! In a sea of cookie cutter designs, it’s refreshing to see something different.
I think the rear looks awkward to me, but the front end is cool. It's as if they had no more ideas half way through.
It's growing on me. I thought it was weird at first but I like that it is different now.
The design is too polarizing. I think it will limit its overall market appeal but it might appeal to young buyers.
Function over form for me. Because of the boxy shape, there’s great headroom and visibility, and I’m all for it.
That's because it looks like a mini Venue, and that's not a bad thing. I think it will age better than some of the more radical designs that are out there.
It's hit or miss for the design, but give Hyundai props for trying something different. It's definitely memorable.
