Does the DB9 Coupe hold up to modern luxury standards in terms of the interior?

The Aston Martin DB9 Coupe’s interior was the epitome of luxury a couple of years back, but with technology and design in the automotive world advancing at a breakneck speed, it is worth questioning whether it holds up. The DB9's cabin is often pointed to as sumptuous leather and real wood trim, in the handcrafted nature of, which contrasts heavily with the tech heavy interiors of newer luxury cars. It also brings up the issue of balancing traditional craftsmanship and modern amenities. The DB9's analog feel has its fans, but its lack of features that are now considered standard in high end vehicles has others questioning. Classic design vs. cutting edge technology, timeless vs. trendy, and the DB9's interior offering the luxury expected at its price point are all topics that often come into play in the debate.

The DB9's interior is timeless. It may not have the latest gadgets, but that hand stitched leather and real wood never goes out of style.

It's beautiful, but feels dated. It feels like a relic compared to newer luxury cars with no touchscreen, old school nav system, and limited connectivity options.

The DB9’s interior would beat any new Mercedes any day. This is about quality and craftsmanship, not how many screens you can shove into a dashboard.

For me, the lack of modern tech is actually a plus. Sitting in a car that does not feel like a rolling smartphone is refreshing.

A fine set of materials and build quality, but ergonomically and in terms of usability it lags behind modern cars.

The DB9’s interior is a fine whiskey that gets better with age. It's not about the latest tech, it's about feeling special every time you sit in it.

It’s a mixed bag, I think. Things like the small infotainment screen and lack of driver assists make it feel old, but the craftsmanship is top notch.

Who cares about modern standards? Inside the DB9 is an experience, not a spec sheet. It’s not what it has, it’s how it makes you feel.

It's gorgeous but impractical. Look for a place to put your phone or a decent sized cup holder. Form over function, for sure.

Inside, the DB9 is a bespoke suit in a world of fast fashion. Sure, it might not have all the bells and whistles, but it has class and character to burn.

Absolutely. Comfort and sportiness are the perfect blend with the DB9. It's not a track weapon, but it's not designed to be. This is for eating up miles in style.

It is not hard enough to be really engaging. If you want a true driver's car, you would be better off with something from Germany.

Naresh on 02 February 2025 20:53
It handles perfectly what it is. When you want it to be, it's comfortable, but you can still dance it if you push it. Perfect grand tourer material.

I think it falls short. Too heavy and the steering is too light to my taste. It is more of a cruiser than a proper sports GT.

Rahul on 03 February 2025 06:07
It handles exactly as it should in the DB9. It's not meant to be a razor sharp sports car. It has to do with traveling long distances quickly and comfortably.

Animesh on 02 February 2025 22:18
A jack of all trades, master of none. Good at many things, but not great at any one thing. That’s not always a bad thing for a GT car.

The handling is underrated. It's not as sharp as a 911 but more engaging than most people give it credit for. When you really push it it comes alive.

For its size, it handles well, but come on… most DB9s are going to spend more time cruising boulevards than carving canyons. And for that, it's perfect.
