Does the CT 150X actually work out on the fuel efficiency front as Bajaj claims?

Commuter bikes such as Bajaj CT 150X are a major selling proposition as manufacturers tend to make bold mileage claims. But like all other vehicles, the CT 150X that Bajaj has advertised impressive fuel efficiency figures, but in real world experience, these figures may differ. Actual fuel consumption depends on factors such riding style, traffic conditions, load and maintenance. This has generated huge discussions among owners and potential buyers about how efficient the CT 150X really is in different riding conditions. There are some users who do get close to, or even get over, the claimed figures, and there are some users that are disappointed with what they are getting in the real world. The difference has fueled arguments over the truthfulness of manufacturer claims, the effect that riding habits have on fuel economy and how the CT 150X stacks up against its rivals when it comes to running costs.

But in my experience, the CT 150X comes very close to what Bajaj claims. I get 55 - 60 kmpl in city traffic, which is quite good for a 150cc bike.

Bajaj's comments are a bit optimistic, I believe. On average I get about 50 kmpl which is good but not that great as they make it sound. But it’s better than my old 125cc bike.

How you ride really depends on that. I can get 65 kmpl when I am gentle with the throttle. Yet, if you ride it hard, it will drop to the mid 40s.

That's actually what I'm disappointed in, the fuel efficiency. In heavy city traffic I barely get 45 kmpl. Honda SP 125 does much better than my friend's Honda.

It's pretty good for a 150cc bike, I think. I get 55 kmpl on average, which is enough to make me happy with my purchase.

It’s decent mileage, not great mileage. I am more impressed with how consistent it is regardless of load. The drop in efficiency is minimal even with a pillion.

After the first few thousand kilometers the fuel efficiency seems to improve. I used to get around 50 kmpl initially and now it is around 60 kmpl.
