Does the CB150R Streetster feel comfortable to ride two up?

There are many riders who wonder if the CB150R Streetster can be used as a two up ride, for couples or friends wanting the same experience. The bike's small size, and 150cc engine, make us wonder how it will perform and be comfortable with a passenger. Others say it's ok for short trips with two people, but some say it's ok only for solo riding. And there is debate over just how much this added weight impacts acceleration and how it may hurt fuel economy. If you’re looking for a versatile motorcycle to do both solo as well as two up riding, then it is important to understand where the CB150R stands and is stocked for this particular task. Now let's look at different ways of how well this Honda handles having a passenger on board.

I have no problem taking my girlfriend on rides, and it's fine for short trips around town. The bike handles the extra weight well, but you definitely feel the extra weight. Don't expect to be drag racing anyone though.

It's honestly not good for two up. With two people it bottoms out easily and the seat is too small to be comfortable on longer rides. You can do it in a pinch, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to do so regularly.

That will depend on the size of you and your passenger. My wife and I are small people and we can do 1-2 hour rides just fine. If you’re both kind of larger folks, you might want to look for something bigger.

I upgraded the rear suspension and it made a huge difference for two up riding. It now feels much more stable and comfortable. If you’re going to be riding with a passenger often, budget some upgrades.

It's perfect for my needs. Mostly I ride solo, but sometimes I take my kid for short rides. The CB150R is great for that kind of use. Just don't tour two up on it and you'll be fine, but be aware of its limitations.

People expect too much from a 150cc bike I think. It does surprisingly well for what it is at handling two up riding. Just ride a little differently, don't accelerate as hard, and be prepared to brake a little longer.

I tried two up on my CB150R and ended up getting a second bike to have when my partner wants to ride with me. It’s much more fun for both of us to have a bit more power and space.
