Mahindra Naya Commander began its production from 2005 before its production was discontinued in 2010. Despite its unusual features such as a 9 seat configuration and strong 4x4 ability, it did not obtain a large market share. But, considering the current craze for rugged, boxy SUVs and the increasing need for a versatile family vehicle, the Naya Commander could have been a little ahead of its time.
