Converting a standard Maruti Eeco into an ambulance has now become a topic of interest for many, small healthcare providers and NGOs who are looking for a cost effective solution. Although the Eeco has a basic structure that is easy to convert to an ambulance, there are many factors to take into account such as safety regulations, medical equipment mounting and the working of the converted vehicle. Others say that with the right knowledge and tools, you can save money by doing the conversion on your own. Some argue that professional conversion is necessary to assure the vehicle is up to all standards necessary and can actually work in emergencies. Issues of safety, cost effectiveness and regulations concerning emergency medical vehicle in India are in debate.

Are you crazy? It's not like slapping a spoiler on a car and making it an ambulance. It requires medical equipment, wiring for lights and sirens, safety modifications. Leave it to the pros!
