Can the entry of international EV brands in India be a challenge for the eKUV100?
With international brands such as MG, Hyundai and even Tesla already launching their products or showing interest in the Indian EV market, the heat in the market is only increasing. It does make you wonder how a homegrown EV such as the Mahindra eKUV100 will perform against these global competitors. International brands, although they offer cutting edge technology and prestige of brand, they do come with a bigger price tag. But, if designed to the specifications of Indian conditions and priced more affordably, the eKUV100 might have its own advantages. But the debate around Mahindra’s EVs includes concerns about the build quality, after sales service and the overall EV experience compared to other established global EV makers. It also discusses the need to support local manufacturers rather than go for more experienced brands internationally in the EV space.
No way. Mahindra is playing catch up in EV tech; international brands are way ahead.
If priced right, it has a chance. Not everybody can afford a Tesla or an MG.
Indian roads are better known to Mahindra. Local knowledge could be a big advantage.
I’d put a little more faith in quality and reliability in an EV from Hyundai or MG.
If it's much cheaper, it could take the budget EV market.
Mahindra might have better after sales support, but international brands have better tech.
It's not about competing head to head. The two can coexist in different segments.
