Can the Continental GT 650 be ridden for long hours?

The Continental GT 650 is famous for its cafe racer styling and usually comes with less comfort than aesthetics. However, many riders are wondering if it’s possible to ride this bike for longer journeys without feeling too tired. Some find fault with the aggressive riding position that the low handlebars complemented with rear set footpegs bring. There is also the firm seat and sporty suspension tuning that could take its toll on ride comfort over long distances. But comfort is subjective, what one rider finds uncomfortable, another may find perfectly fine. Certain owners have altered it with handlebar changes or added cushioned seats for greater comfort. The fairing provides good wind protection, as does the bike's smooth parallel twin engine and all these factors could help long distance rideability.

I've never had any problems with 500km days on my GT650. There’s nothing to it — it’s just getting used to the riding position and stopping regularly.

It's not the most comfortable bike out there, to be honest. But after about 2 hours, my wrists start aching. Man, the looks and sound more than make up for it!

I replaced the stock seat for an aftermarket and it was a world of difference. I can now ride all day without any problems.

That depends on your body type and flexibility. I'm 6'2 and even on long rides I find it pretty cramped. Shorter riders might be better.

The stock setup isn’t great for touring but with some mods like higher bars and a better seat it can be surprisingly comfortable.
