Can the Aprilia RS4 125 be a daily commuter or a weekend fun bike?

by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views10 comments
As a sporty, race inspired machine, the Aprilia RS4 125 is often marketed, but is equally as useful in everyday use as a commuter and weekend joy ride. Its dual purpose usage is in itself interesting, to say the least. It’s a good city traffic bike and fuel efficient daily use bike, some riders say, while others feel the aggressive riding position is not comfortable for longer commutes. Its performance on twisty weekend roads is rarely questioned, but its usefulness in mundane daily tasks is less so. As a daily rider, the RS4 125 is a compromise between comfort, fuel range, storage, and ease of maintenance. So let's see how this Italian sports bike manages the shift from super charged weekend blasts to the more mundane world of daily commuting.

It's a compromise. This is not the best commuter, nor the best weekend bike, but it’s pretty good at both. The jack of all trades and master of none.

I say use it for both. How can you ride a boring bike, even on commutes, life's too short for that.

Terrible commuter. Just too thirsty and too maintenance heavy. Leave it as a toy for weekends.

Surprisingly good for daily use really. Nimble, fuel efficient and always willing to take the long way home.

Mine have done 10,000 miles commuting. If you are used to sports bikes, it’s fine. It’s not that expensive, just invest in a good backpack.

It’s not practical for a daily. And no storage, and you have to worry about it getting knocked over in parking lots.

I find it perfect for both. It’s comfortable enough for my 30 minute commute but still exciting on the weekends when I hit the twisties.

As a daily, it's overkill. Not enough maintenance for regular commuting. Save it for the fun rides.

And I use mine every day for commuting and it's great. It filters traffic like a dream and still makes me smile.

The riding position is murder on my wrists on long commutes, but weekends are a blast. I don’t think it’s ideal for daily use.
