Can riders over 6 feet tall fit comfortably on the KTM 390 Adventure SW?
Choosing an adventure bike is often a question of rider comfort, especially for taller individuals. With a smaller displacement ADV, the KTM 390 Adventure SW begs the question: Is it possible to ride for someone who is over 6 feet tall? Seating height, handlebar position, footpeg position, and overall ergonomics are being factored in. However, some taller riders find smaller ADVs cramped, and so they end up uncomfortable on longer rides. But the 390 Adventure SW’s design and ability to be customized could be the answer. The debate often involves comparisons with other big ADV bikes and trade-offs between size you can manage and the best comfort for taller riders.
It's pretty comfortable for 6'2" me. And I didn't have to make any ergonomic changes, which the upright riding position really helps with.
It's fine for shorter rides, but as a 6'3" rider, I find I feel cramped after a couple of hours. It took a few bar risers and a taller seat to make me comfortable.
For tall riders, surprisingly good! At 6'1", it fits better than some larger ADV bikes I have tried. The key is adjustable suspension; you can really dial it in for your height/weight.
It’s fine up to about 6’2” I think. Beyond that, you may begin to feel a bit folded up. It's still more comfortable for tall riders than most bikes in this class.
Stock, it was too small for my 6'4" body. It is now perfect for me with some mods like peg lowers and handlebar risers, but. It’s got good base ergonomics, but we taller folks just need to tweak it a bit.
It fits me like a glove, and I'm 6 feet even. I believe this is where rider height sits with this bike.
Taller riders will definitely find it more comfortable than the Duke 390, but if you’re over 6’2”, you might consider larger ADV bikes for the best comfort.
