Ather Rizta shutdown and PDU reports: diagnosis, warranty and RSA checklist for India
Public community posts in India report Ather Rizta incidents involving flickering lights, a blank dashboard, lost drive response or a scooter that would not restart. Some mention a PDU diagnosis, but these reports do not prove a model-wide defect, shared cause or official recall.
What should be checked?
| Evidence | Ask the service centre | Keep |
|---|---|---|
| Lights, screen or throttle fail | Which systems failed together; is it safe to move? | Safe video, codes and time |
| Charge level and recent charging | Do logs point to battery, charger, wiring, software or another fault? | Charge history |
| PDU or component diagnosis | Which fault code and test identify the part? | Written diagnosis and job card |
| Warranty decision | Is repair covered; which clause supports it? | Estimate, approval or exclusion |
| Recovery and repair | What are the towing route, parts ETA and final checks? | RSA record and test results |
Stop riding if lighting or drive response is unreliable, and use only official manual guidance for a reboot. Ather's current RSA terms say the plan is purchased separately, covers breakdowns, tows to an appropriate nearby Ather touchpoint, is free up to 100 km from the nearest touchpoint and has a 15-day waiting period. Incident eligibility still needs confirmation.
Which evidence mattered most: a fault-code printout, written component diagnosis, warranty clause, parts ETA, RSA subscription, insurer towing, repeat-symptom video or post-repair test?
