Are we starting to find the Nexon’s design dated?

by Krishnaover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
However, what has always been pretty attractive about the Tata Nexon since its launch has been its design, featuring a coupe like silhouette and bold styling elements. But after several years in the market, there is talk of whether the model still maintains that old chic that allows people to compare the latest design on the market with the model that was launched in 2024. However, others say that the Nexon's distinct styling still looks different and has aged very well in a very crowded segment. Some feel that newer competitors with the more angular and aggressive designs make the Nexon look a little too old school. The latest facelift has also brought on discussion about just how much the new updates reinvigorated the design. Trying to gauge what aspects of the Nexon's design have stood the test of time, how attractive it still is for buyers in 2024 and if Tata might need to go for a more drastic rethink for the next generation to remain competitive in the looks department.

It’s a good design, but it’s not enough to make people stop and stare anymore. The styling of the Nexon needs to inject some excitement into Tata. Perhaps they could take some hints from their newer concepts and make a braver next update.

Some of the newer, over styled SUVs don’t appeal to me, but I actually like the design of the Nexon. It has a good mix of curves and creases to make it distinguishable but not really outright in your face. Sometimes simpler is better.

Now it’s definitely looking dated. Something like the new Kia Sonet or Mahindra XUV300, the Nexon looks a generation behind. To keep up with the game, Tata needs to get the design upped.

My job puts me in the front line of many cars every day, so the Nexon still stands out, I think. What I like is it isn’t doing too much to be modern or aggressive. The design is clean and functional and should, I think, age well.

The design is a mixed bag. It’s a bit bulbous from some angles, but great from others. But I think Tata played it too safe as the recent facelift did help. The next redesign will need to be bolder than that.

It's actually gotten a little bit dated. The basics are in place, but there’s a little something 2018 about some of the accessories. The front grille needs updating and the rear end may have to be sharpened in order for Tata to keep up with rival designs.

I think it looks a bit good. It has a unique character given by coupe like roofline and those distinctive LED DRLs. It’s not the edgiest, newest SUV on the block, but it’s one that I recognize as timeless.
