Are the Creta's popularity and exclusivity affected?
Hyundai Creta has been a big hit in India with thousands of units sold every month. It’s great that Hyundai is so popular but it also makes one wonder how exclusive the car is and how much it will be worth long term. While some would argue that seeing the Creta on every street corner makes it less desirable, others believe that it is popular enough that it will be easy to sell on and maintain. So let's have a look at how the ubiquity of the Creta affects its appeal to buyers who want something different, and if being everywhere is a boon or a bane for both current and prospective owners.
Resale is good with popularity. Creta is known and trusted by everyone, so it’s easy to sell. After all, who cares about exclusivity in this segment?
It's becoming too common. Cretas is everywhere and it’s lost its charm. Even if I have to give up on some features, I’d rather opt for something less ubiquitous.
It’s a double edged sword. It’s great for resale and maintenance, but not so great if you want to stand out. Depends on your priorities.
Don’t get me wrong, as a Creta owner, I don’t mind seeing other Cretas. This just reinforces that I chose well. Also, it is customized, which makes it unique.
There’s a reason why the Creta is popular. It's not exclusive, but it keeps its value. When it's time to sell, you'll be glad you went with a popular model in a few years.
