Are people just kidding when they say the Bajaj CT100B is a really reliable bike?
The Bajaj CT100B has a reputation as a workhorse motorcycle with some owners claiming to have run up incredibly high mileage with very few problems. There are also stories of persistent problems and breakdowns, however. That has led to debates as to whether the CT100B’s reliability is overhyped or if it really is as reliable as it’s made out to be. And lastly, individual experiences may be affected by factors like maintenance habits, riding conditions, and or manufacturing variations. For some, its simplicity is an easy reason to fix, for others, the same simplicity causes more problems. The additional dimension to this reliability question in rural areas and/or on the budget conscious rider's bike is that it often operates in harsh conditions and, in some cases, not under perfect maintenance.
My CT100B is 5 years old, and it works every time. All it needs is regular oil changes and basic maintenance.
Reliable? Maybe for the first year. Since then, it’s been one problem after another. I am always at the mechanic's.
It’s entirely up to how you treat it. Of course it'll break down if you ride it hard and don't look after it. It’ll last forever if you treat it well.
I think people get easy to fix and reliable mixed up. Yes, you can fix it no problem, but you shouldn’t have to do it so often.
My dad's CT100B has over 100,000 km on it and still running strong. Just take care of it properly and don't over do it.
The older one were tanks, but the new ones have more issues. Cost-cutting maybe?
For its price point, it’s reliable enough. At this cost you can't expect premium bike reliability.
