Are all units of the Nexon built to the same high quality?

Tata Motors has visibly improved with its overall build quality—and the Nexon is frequently spoken of as a recent example of this continuous evolution. But owners and possible buyers have spoken out about how consistent the quality is in all Nexon units. Some reports state users enjoy excellent fit and finish as their vehicles feel solid, though others have pointed to problems such as panel gaps, misaligned parts or a bad paint job. One such debate that arose is about Tata’s quality control processes and on whether the build quality of all units of Nexon is, as good as advertised. By asking this question it also opens up the larger question of manufacturing consistency of the Indian automobile industry and how Tata fares as compared to other manufacturers in this regard. This attempts to discover individuals’ real experiences of Nexon owners, any differences between exclusivity of earlier and newer runs in terms of quality and how these inconsistencies, if can be found, influence the user acceptance of and reliability of the vehicle.

Overall the build I'd say is good, but There are definitely some quality control issues as a Nexon owner. The roof has some orange peel paint effect and my driver's side door needs adjustment. While it isn't deal breaking, one is annoying for a new car.

It’s decent build quality, though small problems started popping up over time. Nothing major they are just little things like squeaks and rattles. I wonder how long term durability compares to some Japanese brands.

I feel people are being too harsh on Tata, I can see positive things he has been trying to do for the team. There are some inconsistencies with it, but it’s a lot better than it was. Most of my friends who have one agree with me about how well it’s put together. It isn’t perfect, but for the price it’s pretty competitive.

The inconsistency is real. I have even seen the misaligned panels and paint issues on the brand new Nexons at the dealership. But then when it’s right, it’s such a great car. Tata has some way to go to pull their quality control act together.

I’ve had my Nexon for two years and I’ve found it to be rock solid. No rattles, no loose parts. I pretty lucky I think, but the build quality seemed quite good. Compared with some of its competitors, it certainly feels more substantial.

I work in the auto industry and I have heard this. Overall, the Nexon is an all well built car, but being a mass produced car, there will be cars with issues in them.

I’ve owned two Nexons (don’t ask why) and the quality of the build on the newer one was much better. Tata I think is improving but they are not consistent 100% yet. When buying, you might need to inspect carefully.

I guess it's a hit or miss from the verbal rhetoric I've seen. My cousin has some weird panel gaps on his Nexon but other than that, it’s solid, I have none major issues. It appears Tata's quality control still has some work to do.
