Anyone have any thoughts on how good the quickshifter is on the Duke 790?

Modern motorcycles have become increasingly common with quickshifters, enabling clutchless upshifts and, in some cases, downshifts. Owners and reviewers of the KTM Duke 790 have discussed the bike’s quickshifter. Others commend its functionality and its contribution to macho riding, especially in spirited riding. Some people have had trouble with smoothness or reliability. Whether it’s a must-have or a nice-to-have extra is up for debate. The quickshifter is frequently discussed in terms of its effectiveness at different RPMs and under different riding conditions. Some riders like the traditional method of shifting, while others swear by the quickshifter once they’ve adapted to it.

I think it’s more useful on bigger bikes. It’s nice to have on the 790 but not essential.

It took a software update to get mine working, but now it works flawlessly. It definitely improves the riding 'feel' of the bike.

I mean, it’s one of those things that you never think you need until you try it. I can’t imagine riding without it now.

Upshifts I love it, but downshifting takes some getting used to with the auto blipper. I still like to use the clutch going down.

The quickshifter on the 790 is okay, but not as smooth as some other bikes I’ve tried. At low RPMs it can be a bit clunky.

I barely use it for everyday commuting, but it’s great for track days and aggressive riding.

Overrated gimmick. After a week, I turned mine off. There is nothing quite like a good old-fashioned manual shift.

It's a game-changer. After a while, you'll never want to ride without one.
