A Bajaj Avenger 400 would look how?

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has been a popular name in the mid capacity cruiser segment, giving a perfect mix of classic styling with modern features. We have set a benchmark for what riders are looking for in a cruiser in this category. In case Bajaj launches an Avenger 400, then it is most likely to launch as a direct competitor to the Meteor 350. So, this comparison leads to a lot of questions for Bajaj regarding how they would differentiate their offering, what features they will have to include to stand out and what price they would be able to charge for it. As the potential Avenger 400 would have displacement advantage, but other considerations such as ride comfort, build quality and brand perception would also come into play in this contest.

We can't ignore riding dynamics. REs feel more nimble than the current Avenger. Of course, if they keep that character with the 400, it could be a more versatile option for those who need the 400 and also want to tour.

It could be a key factor of reliability. Practical buyers would be won over by Bajaj if they can offer better long term reliability and lower maintenance costs.

The RE is old school but the Avenger's more modern design will appeal to the younger riders who like a cruiser but don't like the RE. It could find a niche of its own.

Brand loyalty is no joke. The Meteor is a solid bike and RE has a cult following. To get people away from the RE showrooms, Bajaj will need to offer something really special.

If priced right, I think the Avenger 400 could be a game changer. If Bajaj can do the Meteor at a lower price point with more power, it will be a no brainer for many buyers.

It’s not all about performance. A classic RE charm and a massive aftermarket is what the Meteor has. Bajaj would have to get the styling and build quality right to compete, not just dump a bigger engine.

An Avenger 400 would smoke the Meteor. Especially for highway cruising, that extra 50cc would make a big difference. Bajaj's engines are also usually more refined, plus.
