It depends on the person. What you learned on is irrelevant; a good driver can adapt to any car.

It's fine to learn on an Alto, but it's not good to get your license with a car that you have learnt on.

The Alto's too easy to drive. It doesn’t teach you to respect the machine or its limits.

It makes sense to start out with an Alto. You’re better off learning the rules of the road in a forgiving car than a powerful one.

It's not the Alto, it’s the lack of proper driver education in India. No car can fix that.

Absolutely! Alto has been running for 12 years now, with barely any issues. It’s the car equivalent of the Nokia 3310.

Newer models aren't as tough. My old 2008 model was niggly free for a decade and my 2019 Alto had more niggles in 2 years.

It's not just that something has to not break down. But I wouldn't call the Alto reliable for all conditions because it feels unsafe at high speeds.

Sometimes it's safer to be able to maneuver quickly than to be a big, slow moving vehicle in India.
Which car is better, Citroen C3 or Maruti Wagon R?
09 January 2024 08:13
Both vehicles excel in their own fields, but the Citroen C3 offers the room and functionality of a compact SUV for the cost of a hatchback that is comfortable on a range of surfaces. However, it is also devoid of many creature conveniences that its competitors have made us accustomed to, such as electrically adjustable mirrors and windshield wipers. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, on the other hand, is the perfect little family vehicle. It has two engine options is efficient, practical, and capacious. It also has a convenient automatic transmission. Additionally we advise you to do a test drive to gain a better idea of compatibility and comfort when driving.
