So, is the Celerio X's three star GNCAP rating a safer bet than newer rivals?
30 December 2024 07:36
The rating applies to the whole range, including the lower variants, of the Celerio X. In fact, the top spec X with added safety features could actually be even safer.
The K10B engine in the Celerio X is more fun to drive than the K10C new Celerio?
30 December 2024 07:36
The K10B was a gem! The X was a blast in city traffic and felt so eager to rev. It's probably a more sensible new one, but less fun.
The K10B engine in the Celerio X is more fun to drive than the K10C new Celerio?
30 December 2024 07:36
I've driven both and in day to day driving the difference isn't that noticeable. But the bigger plus to me is the new engine's efficiency.
The K10B engine in the Celerio X is more fun to drive than the K10C new Celerio?
30 December 2024 07:36
Its sporty looks and the X's engine made it seem more special. Just like the new Celerio, it is a Celerio.
The K10B engine in the Celerio X is more fun to drive than the K10C new Celerio?
30 December 2024 07:36
Fun is subjective. The K10C's improved fuel efficiency means more money in my pocket and, frankly, that's pretty fun as well!
The K10B engine in the Celerio X is more fun to drive than the K10C new Celerio?
30 December 2024 07:36
The K10B had character, but don't get all nostalgic. The K10C is probably better in most ways, but engine tech has come a long way.
The K10B engine in the Celerio X is more fun to drive than the K10C new Celerio?
30 December 2024 07:36
I do miss the K10B's low end grunt. It made it perfect for zipping through gaps in traffic. The new one's a little more lazy.
The K10B engine in the Celerio X is more fun to drive than the K10C new Celerio?
30 December 2024 07:36
The car was lighter, so the X's engine felt peppier. If you put the K10C in the X's body it might actually be the best of both worlds!
Should Maruti have missed a trick by not offering the Celerio X with the 1.2L engine from the Swift?
30 December 2024 07:36
Absolutely! With a 1.2L, a Celerio X would have been a pocket rocket. That was a big miss by Maruti.
Should Maruti have missed a trick by not offering the Celerio X with the 1.2L engine from the Swift?
30 December 2024 07:36
Nah, the X would've been too expensive if it did. It was never meant to be a hot hatch, it was meant to be a stylish budget option.
Should Maruti have missed a trick by not offering the Celerio X with the 1.2L engine from the Swift?
30 December 2024 07:36
If they had positioned it right, it could've worked. Maybe to fill the gap between Swift Juniors and some other segment.
Should Maruti have missed a trick by not offering the Celerio X with the 1.2L engine from the Swift?
30 December 2024 07:36
The X's size was just peppy enough to make the 1.0L seem okay. It might have been overkill anything more powerful, and hurt its efficiency.
Should Maruti have missed a trick by not offering the Celerio X with the 1.2L engine from the Swift?
30 December 2024 07:36
I'm torn. It would have been fun with the 1.2L, but that might have cannibalised Swift. It's possible that Maruti played it safe.
Should Maruti have missed a trick by not offering the Celerio X with the 1.2L engine from the Swift?
30 December 2024 07:36
At the very least they should have had the option. Let buyers choose between efficiency and performance.

India could have had the X with 1.2L as the answer to the VW Up! GTI. Missed opportunity for sure.
Was the Celerio X a car ahead of its time by predicting the mini-SUV trend?
30 December 2024 07:36
Totally ahead of its time! Had Maruti stuck with it and evolved the concept, they would've probably beaten everyone to the mini SUV punch.
Was the Celerio X a car ahead of its time by predicting the mini-SUV trend?
30 December 2024 07:36
No, it was just the latest trend globally. It came before the Kwid which really kickstarted the rugged small car thing in India.
Was the Celerio X a car ahead of its time by predicting the mini-SUV trend?
30 December 2024 07:36
It wasn’t quite there, but it was a step in the right direction. Less a trendsetter and more of a test balloon.

The S-Presso could run, so the X walked. Even if they didn’t fully commit to it, Maruti was definitely onto something.

I think it was right on time, not ahead. Later models proved the market was ready for cars like this.
