Mahindra, I thought, missed the mark. Tough and utilitarian were the goal, but what they landed on is something that looks dated right out of the gate. It’s trying too hard to be different.

Absolutely! The TUV300’s RWD setup provides it with better traction when loaded. It's great for carrying things around or taking it off road. When you're pushing it, you really feel the difference.

Frankly, for the most part, it does not matter. But the average TUV300 buyer won't notice any difference between RWD and FWD in day to day driving. The real advantage is more of a talking point.

It's a double-edged sword. RWD is a lot cooler for enthusiasts; better weight distribution, but it’s less fuel efficient and can be a bit trickier in the wet. I'm not sure it’s the best choice for a family SUV.

For a car in this segment the RWD setup is overkill. It complicates and can lead to maintenance problems further down the line. But Mahindra should have continued to use FWD for better efficiency.

No way, man. That’s why the Bolero is a legend. It’s simple, rugged and easy to fix. Instead, the TUV300 tries to be too fancy and loses that raw appeal that the Bolero enjoyed.

I believe it’s a good evolution. While the Bolero is tough as nails, the TUV300 keeps the spirit intact, but with modern safety features and comfort. That's what the Bolero would be if you designed it today.

Being a Bolero owner, I was never excited about the TUV300. I can see the appeal, though, after driving it. It's tough, and more comfortable, and more feature packed. For Bolero owners who want to upgrade, it’s a good option.

It is not unsafe, it is a characteristic of the suspension. In normal driving you won’t come across this.

People are overreacting. Many 4x4s do this and it isn't a safety issue if you drive sensibly.
