It depends on your city I think. It's fine in a planned city with wide roads. In older cities with tight lanes and limited parking, it really can be a headache.

The ADAS features are surprisingly useful — the drowsiness detection in particular when driving on long highways. I’ve caught me nodding off a couple of times.

Indian traffic makes most of the ADAS features seem pointless. They're always beeping and flashing warnings that are not relevant to how we drive around here.

It's a mixed bag. Some features are good on highways, like the adaptive cruise control, but features like lane keep assist are useless on our poorly marked roads.

I think that's a step in the right direction. They're not perfect for Indian conditions but they'll get better with time. We need to start somewhere.

Being able to have the ADAS features at least gives me a peace of mind when I’m driving and family. It’s worth having that extra layer of safety, even if they’re not perfect.

After the first week, I turned off most of the ADAS features. In day to day driving in India they're more annoying than helpful.

I’ve driven in India and abroad and can say the ADAS features are definitely less effective here. They're still better than nothing though.

For new or less confident drivers, the real value of ADAS in India is. It is an extra set of eyes on the road.

I believe we are missing the point. These features aren’t designed to replace good driving, they’re designed to complement it. They are tools, not crutches.

I took the Scorpio-N off road and can verify that the 4XPLOR system is legit. It really did make a difference on tricky terrain. Most owners won't use it to its full capacity but it's there when you need it.

It's mostly marketing fluff. I drove both the Scorpio-N and older 4x4s without fancy terrain systems and there’s no huge difference for the average user. If you really need it, save your money and get a simpler 4x4.

The 4XPLOR system is not a must have, but a nice to have. It's useful for the few times you may go off road but not the extra cost if you are mostly a city driver. It’s not so much of a necessity as it is peace of mind.

I think it's a bit of both. Mahindra's marketing oversells the system, but the system does work. It won’t make the Scorpio-N into a hardcore off roader, but it does make it more capable than your average SUV. It's up to the buyer if that is worth the price.

The real value of 4XPLOR is in how it is used on a day to day basis. City driving and on highways, there is a noticeable difference in the different driving modes. The thing is, it's not just about off roading.

I would say that it’s more of a safety feature than anything else. You may never go off road, but having that extra capability can be a life saver in the case of heavy rain or muddy roads.

In fact, the manual only option is actually a plus for me. It gives me control off road or in tricky driving conditions, which I love. And that's just part of the reason why the Scorpio feels like a proper SUV.

No automatic? That's a deal-breaker for me. It’s just too much hassle and I spend hours driving in city traffic. Not offering an auto option is really limiting Mahindra's market.

I'm torn on this. It’s fun when you are in the mood, but there are days I wish I could just relax and let the car shift. Could Mahindra offer both options?
