The character of the engine is the same. You wouldn't know that it's made some place else if you didn't know.

I love the road use with the cornering ABS, but disabling it (to use it for serious off-road) would be a pain! It should be easier to switch modes on KTM.

It’s saved my bacon a few times, transitioning onto loose gravel. It is a great safety net for a long adventure when you’re tired.

That’s all these electronics adding complexity. More problems to go wrong with in the middle of nowhere. For true adventure riding, I prefer a simpler bike.

The throttle is a ride-by-wire, which means it gives amazing fuel efficiency, perfect for long-distance adventure riding. That doesn’t mean it’s only good for off-road either.

I feel KTM had a good balance. They're useful, but not too useful. And you can get the rear wheel spinning when you need to.

The electronics make the bike useful for more. On the road, you'll find it confidence inspiring and can even tune the settings for the dirt.

They might be a hindrance to the experienced off-road rider but a huge help for adventure tourists who might find themselves on an off-road section when not expecting it.

It is definitely tall, though the narrow seat helps. I'm 5'7", and you can get used to it with practice. It's all about technique.

An absolute deal-breaker for me. I was 5'5" and couldn't flat-foot it… and it made me feel unsafe, especially loaded with gear.
