Does the Mahindra Supro Ambulance really suit Indian road conditions?
27 December 2024 10:28
I disagree. It may be fine for city use, but the Supro Ambulance has failed me on highways and rough rural roads. Its small size means it gets buffeted by the wind from passing trucks, and the ride can be pretty harsh on bad stretches. In these instances patient comfort is compromised.

Affordability is a point you’re both missing. The Supro Ambulance is the only viable option for many small clinics and rural health centres. It's not perfect, but it's getting emergency services into parts that have had none. That's a huge win in my book.

Affordability is definitely a fair point, but I think it's a false economy. Are we really helping patients if the vehicle can’t provide adequate care during transport? There have been times that I've seen the limited space make it hard to complete necessary procedures on route.

But let’s not forget about maintenance. The Supro Ambulance, I've found, is pretty reliable and easy to service even in smaller towns. That's important for maintaining these vehicles on the road and on call.

I think we’re missing the fuel efficiency component. From my experience the good mileage seems to widen the area of which the emergency vehicle can serve without too many refueling stops. In remote areas with few fuel stations that’s a big deal.

I have mixed feelings about this as a paramedic. Good for quick response, but I tend to be cramped, working on patients. It's a trade off between speed of arrival and space for treatment.
Do the Scorpio-N’s ADAS features actually make sense in Indian driving conditions?
27 December 2024 10:03
The ADAS features are surprisingly useful — the drowsiness detection in particular when driving on long highways. I’ve caught me nodding off a couple of times.
Do the Scorpio-N’s ADAS features actually make sense in Indian driving conditions?
27 December 2024 10:03
Indian traffic makes most of the ADAS features seem pointless. They're always beeping and flashing warnings that are not relevant to how we drive around here.
Do the Scorpio-N’s ADAS features actually make sense in Indian driving conditions?
27 December 2024 10:03
It's a mixed bag. Some features are good on highways, like the adaptive cruise control, but features like lane keep assist are useless on our poorly marked roads.
Do the Scorpio-N’s ADAS features actually make sense in Indian driving conditions?
27 December 2024 10:03
I think that's a step in the right direction. They're not perfect for Indian conditions but they'll get better with time. We need to start somewhere.
Do the Scorpio-N’s ADAS features actually make sense in Indian driving conditions?

Being able to have the ADAS features at least gives me a peace of mind when I’m driving and family. It’s worth having that extra layer of safety, even if they’re not perfect.
Do the Scorpio-N’s ADAS features actually make sense in Indian driving conditions?

After the first week, I turned off most of the ADAS features. In day to day driving in India they're more annoying than helpful.
Do the Scorpio-N’s ADAS features actually make sense in Indian driving conditions?
27 December 2024 10:03
I’ve driven in India and abroad and can say the ADAS features are definitely less effective here. They're still better than nothing though.
Do the Scorpio-N’s ADAS features actually make sense in Indian driving conditions?

For new or less confident drivers, the real value of ADAS in India is. It is an extra set of eyes on the road.
Do the Scorpio-N’s ADAS features actually make sense in Indian driving conditions?

I believe we are missing the point. These features aren’t designed to replace good driving, they’re designed to complement it. They are tools, not crutches.
How do the Indian roads work for the Jeeto Plus?
27 December 2024 09:34
I have driven my Jeeto Plus on all types of roads and I can tell you, it handles much better than you’d think. That’s a blessing in city traffic, as you can squeeze through gaps that bigger trucks can’t. If you're not overloading it, it's stable enough on highways. You feel those potholes more than in a bigger vehicle, but yeah.
How do the Indian roads work for the Jeeto Plus?
27 December 2024 09:34
The Jeeto Plus is fine for city roads, but rural roads are a different story. The suspension bottoms out on really bad patches and I've had issues with it. If you plan to use it mostly on well kept roads, then you will be fine. However, if you’re looking for something to get you through serious off road or damaged roads to the point where they’re heavily damaged, then you might want something with more ground clearance.
How do the Indian roads work for the Jeeto Plus?
27 December 2024 09:34
People expect too much from a mini truck, I think. The Jeeto Plus isn't meant for off roading, but it manages the normal Indian roads just fine. The trick is to drive it sensibly and not overload it. I’ve driven mine on some pretty rough roads and it’s not the smoothest of rides, but it does the job and doesn’t break down.
How do the Indian roads work for the Jeeto Plus?
27 December 2024 09:34
I have driven both the Jeeto Plus and some of its rivals and personally I’d rate it as about average for its class. It has a great tight turning radius for the tight streets, but the ride gets a little bumpy on the fully loaded model. You get maneuverability but then you lose some comfort on rougher roads.
How do the Indian roads work for the Jeeto Plus?
27 December 2024 09:34
On varied road conditions, I’ve found the Jeeto Plus to be surprisingly capable. It won't ride plush on bad roads for sure, but it's tougher than it looks. Most obstacles I've come across have been cleared by the ground clearance. Remember, it’s meant to haul stuff, it isn’t a luxury vehicle, so set your expectations accordingly.
