The hype surrounding the Aura's infotainment system, does it live up to it?
02 January 2025 07:24
It's a mixed bag. On paper it is feature rich but execution is sub par. I’ve had Bluetooth connectivity issues dropping at random, including the system freezing and I have to restart. It works, but it’s not very reliable.
The hype surrounding the Aura's infotainment system, does it live up to it?

I don’t think the Aura’s infotainment system is as bad as people make it out to be. For the price point, it’s actually pretty good. It's a bright screen that is visible even in sunlight, the touch response is quick, and wireless Android Auto is a big plus. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely one of the better systems in its segment.
The hype surrounding the Aura's infotainment system, does it live up to it?

As somebody that considers himself a tech enthusiast, I find the Aura's infotainment to be adequate not exciting. It works, but it’s not innovative. I also wish that Hyundai had gone a little further with the boundaries a bit, perhaps with a bigger screen or more customizations.
The hype surrounding the Aura's infotainment system, does it live up to it?

One of the reasons I got the Aura over its competitors is because of the infotainment system. It’s intuitive to use, and the fact it supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is a total win. Anything that makes long drives more enjoyable with the use of maps and music is certainly welcomed here.
Does the Aura’s ride quality make it suitable for Indian roads?
02 January 2025 07:24
I’ve put my Aura well over 30,000 km over a range of road conditions and ride quality is pretty impressive. Most potholes and bumps are handled without too much fuss. Of course it's not plush like larger sedans, but among its peers it manages to do a good job of hiding passengers from road imperfections.
Does the Aura’s ride quality make it suitable for Indian roads?
02 January 2025 07:24
Fact is, the Aura’s ride quality isn’t anything to write home about. On smooth roads it's fine, but hit a bad patch and you'll feel every bump. In corners it rolls too much body roll for the suspension which feels too soft. It is not a good buy if you are looking for a car that will do well in varying Indian road conditions.
Does the Aura’s ride quality make it suitable for Indian roads?
02 January 2025 07:24
If you're somebody who is frequently found behind the wheel in both city streets and highways, then you'll appreciate the fit the Aura wears in between the two. The chair is comfortable enough for daily commutes and doesn’t feel too floaty on highways. It’s not perfect, but if you’re looking for a good price, it’s a good balance.
Does the Aura’s ride quality make it suitable for Indian roads?
02 January 2025 07:24
It’s all down to which variant you choose as to how the ride quality is. As I have the top end model with 15 inch alloys, it handles much better than the base model with smaller wheels. It's surprisingly composed on bad roads. It's not luxury car smooth, but far above average for its class.
Does the Aura’s ride quality make it suitable for Indian roads?

I believe people are expecting too much out of a compact sedan. Ride quality with the Aura is just fine for what it is. Four adults fit comfortably in it, it handles speed breakers well and doesn't bottom out on bad roads like some of its competitors. At the price, it's a good package.
Does the Aura’s ride quality make it suitable for Indian roads?
02 January 2025 07:24
The ride quality is a huge step up if you've moved from a hatchback to the Aura. On the highway it feels more planted, and it absorbs city road imperfections well. But on really bad roads you do feel the limitations of the compact sedan setup.
Does the Aura’s ride quality make it suitable for Indian roads?
02 January 2025 07:24
It's decent, but not quirk free. At low speed it's pretty comfy, but when you go faster, particularly on rough roads there can be a little bit of unsettledness. Not a deal breaker, but if you have a lot of highway driving then keep that in mind.
Is the Hyundai Aura a glorified taxi or a legit family car?
02 January 2025 07:24
Definitely more than a taxi! I’ve had an Aura for two years now and it’s been great for my family. It's spacious enough for four adults, there's decent boot space and the features on the higher trims are pretty good. You see a lot of them as taxis, but that’s because they’re reliable and efficient. If you are looking for a solid, affordable family car, don’t let the taxi image put you off.
Is the Hyundai Aura a glorified taxi or a legit family car?
02 January 2025 07:24
The Aura is screaming “taxi” from a mile away, let’s be real. The fact that every other cab on the road is an Aura and that boxy design just kills any appeal as a personal car. If you want a compact sedan that doesn’t make you look like an off duty Uber driver, you’re better off with something like a Maruti Dzire or Honda Amaze.
Is the Hyundai Aura a glorified taxi or a legit family car?
02 January 2025 07:24
It depends, I think, on the variant you choose. Base models are pretty barebones and taxi like, but top end versions with alloys, chrome accents and better interiors can actually look quite nice. Everything is determined by how you spec it out. And the taxi association makes parts cheap and readily available, which is a big plus for long term ownership.
Is the Hyundai Aura a glorified taxi or a legit family car?
02 January 2025 07:24
I test drove the Aura and its competitors and I'd say it's a mixed bag. The 1.0 turbo engine is surprisingly peppy and the Aura has a surprisingly good ride quality. The interior is a bit cheap compared to rivals and that taxi image is hard to shake. The car is good, but for more you can do better.
Is the Hyundai Aura a glorified taxi or a legit family car?
02 January 2025 07:24
Why does everyone harp on the taxi thing? The Aura is a damn good tool and a car is a tool. It's great mileage, easy to drive around the city, and they have a great service network. Who cares if taxi fleets like it? It just proves its reliability. Be practical, not image oriented.
Is the Hyundai Alcazar an overpriced Creta with extra seats?
02 January 2025 07:10
It’s way more than just a Creta with extra seats. The Alcazar gets longer wheelbase, different suspension tuning and some unique features like the 360 degree camera. Plus, the third row, while not very capacious, makes a lot of sense for families.
Is the Hyundai Alcazar an overpriced Creta with extra seats?
02 January 2025 07:10
Overpriced? Absolutely. Essentially, what you’re paying a hefty premium for is a stretched Creta with a cramped third row. It’s not that the extra features don’t justify the price jump, but it is simply that for the same money you can get a proper 7 seater like the Tata Safari.
Is the Hyundai Alcazar an overpriced Creta with extra seats?
02 January 2025 07:10
It really depends on what your needs are. If you don’t need those extra seats all the time, and want a slightly more premium feel than the Creta, the Alcazar makes sense. If you're going to always use it as a 5 seater then the Creta is the sensible choice and you save some money too.
Is the Hyundai Alcazar an overpriced Creta with extra seats?
02 January 2025 07:10
I’d say, as an Alcazar owner, it’s worth it. The feel is more upmarket with features like extra ventilated seats and wireless charging and the ride quality feels way better than that of the Creta. For small families that need occasional 7 seat capability but don’t want the full size SUV, it’s perfect.
