In mild weather, it's pretty close to the EPA rating. I usually get around 95% of rated range.

Cold weather range tanks. When it's below freezing, I'm lucky to get 70% of the EPA rating.

I've even gone over the EPA range a few times on road trips. It’s really all about how you drive it.
The Ioniq 5’s EPA rating is good, but how does it compare to its real world range?

Driving on the highway at 75+ mph definitely cuts the range more than I thought it would. City driving is much better.

It's hit or miss. There are some days when I’m amazed at how efficient it is, other days I’m constantly watching the range meter.
The Ioniq 5’s EPA rating is good, but how does it compare to its real world range?

With the range, you can get through the day easily, but I wouldn't go on any long road trips without knowing what I was going to do.
The Ioniq 5’s EPA rating is good, but how does it compare to its real world range?

Real world range is about 10-15% less than EPA, which isn’t bad for an EV compared to some other EVs I’ve driven.
The Ioniq 5's retro futurism is a hit or miss.

Absolute hit! That’s nice to see an EV that doesn’t look like a blob on wheels. I love the pixel lights, they’re so unique!
The Ioniq 5's retro futurism is a hit or miss.

I think it's a miss. Too boxy and trying too hard to be something other than what it is. In a few years it will look dated.
The Ioniq 5's retro futurism is a hit or miss.

It's growing on me. I didn’t think much of it at first but now I like how it stands out from the rest of the cars on the road.
The Ioniq 5's retro futurism is a hit or miss.

I like the design, but I don’t like the fake grille. Why do EVs need to pretend they have grilles?
The Ioniq 5's retro futurism is a hit or miss.
02 January 2025 10:51
It's a hit for sure. It was a risk Hyundai took and it paid off. It’s like a concept car that actually got built.
The Ioniq 5's retro futurism is a hit or miss.

Mixed feelings. It looks great on the outside but the inside is a bit too minimalist for my liking.
The Ioniq 5's retro futurism is a hit or miss.

Definitely a hit. It has that retro future feeling that is so hot right now. And then it's instantly recognizable.
The i20's rear seat comfort is a strong point, how does it stack up with hatchbacks and compact SUVs?

Rear seats are pretty comfy for a hatchback. The seat cushioning is just right for long trips and good leg room.
The i20's rear seat comfort is a strong point, how does it stack up with hatchbacks and compact SUVs?
02 January 2025 10:45
It's okay, but not great. On this count, compact SUVs have the upper hand, because of their higher seating position and better headroom.
The i20's rear seat comfort is a strong point, how does it stack up with hatchbacks and compact SUVs?
02 January 2025 10:45
Though there's not as much rear space as you'd get from one of Hyundai's bigger cars (like the Venue), I find the i20's seats are comfier than most in any hatchback.
The i20's rear seat comfort is a strong point, how does it stack up with hatchbacks and compact SUVs?
02 January 2025 10:45
For two adults, it's fine. You can't fit three in the back, it's a squeeze. Hump in transmission tunnel doesn't help.
The i20's rear seat comfort is a strong point, how does it stack up with hatchbacks and compact SUVs?
02 January 2025 10:45
The seats are comfortable, but for some passengers the rising window line makes it feel a bit claustrophobic.
The i20's rear seat comfort is a strong point, how does it stack up with hatchbacks and compact SUVs?

It is one of the hatchbacks in the segment and I'd say it is one of the best. It’s roomy, and the seat back is the right angle.
