Can the Hyundai Tucson's futuristic design pass the test of time?

I worry about how it will age, but it looks cool now. Remember how some of those cars from the early 2000s that were over styled aged so quickly? I worry the Tucson will go the way of the Ford.

What sold me on the Tucson is the design. It was way more expensive looking than what it was, and now, a year later, I still get complimented on it. And who cares if it looks dated in 10 years? Anyhow, most people don't keep cars that long.

I'm worried that front grille design isn't very practical. If one of those hidden lights goes out, what then? It could be an expensive repair down the line, seems.

You have to love it or hate it, but it stands out. I like that Hyundai took a chance and made something different in a sea of look alikes.

I think the overall shape will hold up well, but some of the more extreme details will look a little silly in a few years. I’d rather have something interesting than another forgettable design, though.

I’ve owned both ‘safe’ designs and more out there ones and I can tell you that driving something different is always more fun. If it ages poorly, at least you had some fun while it was fresh.
Is the Hyundai Tucson’s ADAS system a game changer or just another over hyped feature?
03 January 2025 06:46
The ADAS features on the Tucson are awesome! Adaptive cruise control makes highway driving much less stressful. It's not perfect to look at but it sure makes the commute more enjoyable.

To be honest, I am more annoyed by the lane keeping assist than I am helped by it. It’s always beeping at me or nudging the wheel. Most of the time I end up turning it off.

I was a skeptic at first, but I’ve come to enjoy the ADAS features. They are not a replacement for attentive driving, but they do give you a little bit more peace of mind.

My Tucson’s ADAS works well on well marked highways, but it gets confused on rural roads or in bad weather. It’s a nice feature to have, but I don’t think it’s a game changer.

I'm concerned people become too dependent on technology. I’ve seen drivers pay less attention because they believe the car will take care of everything. It's a bit concerning.

The selling point for me was the ADAS features. While they’re not perfect, they’re continuing to improve with software updates. I feel like I’m steering a car from the future.
Is Hyundai Tucson's soft suspension a boon or a bane?
03 January 2025 06:46
The soft suspension is absolutely love! The pothole filled city streets that I commute on every day are perfect for this. If you just want to get to work comfortably, who needs a stiff sports car?
Is Hyundai Tucson's soft suspension a boon or a bane?
03 January 2025 06:46
I get the comfort angle, but I wish Hyundai had the sport tuned suspension option. Body roll in corners can be a little much, depending on what you’re used to.
Is Hyundai Tucson's soft suspension a boon or a bane?
03 January 2025 06:46
I'm torn on this. I appreciated the comfort, but I’ve found it a bit floaty on highway on ramps and quick lane changes. Perhaps a slightly firmer setup would be a good middle ground?
Is Hyundai Tucson's soft suspension a boon or a bane?
03 January 2025 06:46
The Tucson's suspension is a dream for someone who upgraded from an older, more stiff riding SUV. Every time I drive over a speed bump, my back thanks Hyundai!
Is Hyundai Tucson's soft suspension a boon or a bane?
03 January 2025 06:46
I believe it has to do with where you live. It's perfect in areas with rough roads. If you’re in a place with smooth highways and twisty backroads, however, you might wish for a bit more control.
Is Hyundai Tucson's soft suspension a boon or a bane?
03 January 2025 06:46
The soft suspension is great until you load up the car for a road trip. It begins to become a bit wallowy. I just wish they’d have an adaptive suspension option.
Is the Hyundai Tucson’s futuristic design robust enough for the long run?
03 January 2025 06:46
The design is awesome, I think. It’s nice to see a mainstream brand be willing to take risks. Sure it’ll look dated in a few years, but at least it’s not another boring blob on wheels.

03 January 2025 06:46
I know it looks cool now, but I worry about how it’ll age. Do you remember how fast some of those over styled cars from the early 2000’s started to look old? I worry that the Tucson might be next.
