Can the Dominar 200 hold its own against bigger bikes on long trips?

It’s a 200cc bike, come on. It will work but you'll have to work the engine hard to keep up with bigger bikes. Now, that said, it is a great way to get into touring without breaking the bank.
Can the Dominar 200 hold its own against bigger bikes on long trips?
29 January 2025 07:59
The Dominar 200 is a bike that I think is perfect for Indian touring conditions. It's fast enough for highways, nimble enough for city streets and efficient enough for long distances. It’s not as fast as a 400cc+ bike but do you really need to go that fast on our roads?
Can the Dominar 200 hold its own against bigger bikes on long trips?
29 January 2025 07:59
I have ridden both the Dominar 200 and 400 on long trips and I would say the 200 is surprisingly capable. The biggest difference is in high speed overtaking and uphill sections. It’s more than enough for steady cruising, though.
Was the Discover 150S the best of the 'jugaad' bikes?

Jugaad bike? Absolutely! The Discover was the Swiss Army knife of motorcycles. Not the best at anything, but good enough for everything.
Was the Discover 150S the best of the 'jugaad' bikes?
29 January 2025 07:57
It is an insult to call it 'jugaad'. Discover was a well thought out product. Doesn't mean it's a hack job because it's versatile.
Was the Discover 150S the best of the 'jugaad' bikes?

That’s why it failed — it was the ultimate jugaad bike. Now, Indians want specialization and not one size fits all solutions.
Was the Discover 150S the best of the 'jugaad' bikes?
29 January 2025 07:57
Discover was the best kind of jugaad. This showed you don’t need separate bikes for commuting and fun rides. Bajaj was ahead of its time.
Was the Discover 150S the best of the 'jugaad' bikes?
29 January 2025 07:57
Jugaad? You are more like a jack of all trades, master of none. Rather, I’d rather have a bike that is good at one thing rather than being average at everything.
Was the Discover 150S the best of the 'jugaad' bikes?
29 January 2025 07:57
The Discover was not jugaad, but smart engineering. What Bajaj did was look at what people actually needed, rather than what marketing told them they wanted.
Was the Discover 150S the best of the 'jugaad' bikes?

Yes, if you mean by jugaad "makes do". The Discover was for those who couldn’t afford a Pulsar but wanted something better than a 100cc commuter.
Was the Discover 150S the best of the 'jugaad' bikes?
29 January 2025 07:57
Bajaj convincing people that they needed a 150cc bike for commuting was the real jugaad. Clever marketing, but probably not what riders needed.
Was the Discover 150S the best of the 'jugaad' bikes?

The negative connotations of Jugaad were turned into a positive by the Discover. The bike that changed with you, not the other way around.
Was the Discover 150S the best of the 'jugaad' bikes?
29 January 2025 07:57
For Bajaj, Discover was jugaad, not for consumers. To fill a gap between Platina and Pulsar they cobbled together the Discover.
Should Bajaj have loved the Discover 150S more?
29 January 2025 07:57
Absolutely! The Discover 150S was that quiet kid in class that’s actually a genius. The spotlight never really deserved to be given to it by Bajaj.
Should Bajaj have loved the Discover 150S more?

Bajaj knew what they were doing nah. The Pulsar was their golden goose and they were right to focus on it. You can't really blame a company for playing to its strengths.
Should Bajaj have loved the Discover 150S more?
29 January 2025 07:57
Bajaj missed a trick here I think, they should have positioned the Discover as a premium commuter. Had they marketed it right, it would have been India's CB Shine killer.
Should Bajaj have loved the Discover 150S more?
29 January 2025 07:57
The Discover got plenty of love. Do you recall the TV ads with the guy who does stunts? The problem was it was trying to be everything to everyone, and ended up pleasing no one.
Should Bajaj have loved the Discover 150S more?
29 January 2025 07:57
It didn’t need more love, it needed better engineering. My friend's Discover had more rattles than a baby toy store had rattles. Love? Fix the quality.
Should Bajaj have loved the Discover 150S more?
29 January 2025 07:57
The Discover was ahead of its time. Everyone now wants a bike to commute to the city and to go on weekend rides. I think Bajaj should have stuck with it and evolved the concept.
Should Bajaj have loved the Discover 150S more?
29 January 2025 07:57
More love? It needed tough love! Bajaj should have killed it sooner and put those resources into making the Pulsar even better.
