Bajaj pulsar AS 200 is good bike. Performance was very good but Bajaj has discontinued this bike. The AS200 did not gain the popularity and sales figures which Bajaj had hoped. This is because it did not appeal to its customer base who can be categorized as the 'Informed' and the 'Less Informed'.

As of now, the Bajaj AS200 is under production again for updating. The new 2017 Bajaj AS200 will be available soon by early 2017. Now Bajaj is going through some major updates (BSIV). The bike priced at INR 94,000 comes with a 199.5 cc engine which gives out a maximum power of 23.17 bhp @ 9500 rpm and a torque of 18.3 Nm @ 8000 rpm. The bike is available in 3 standard shades – Red, Blue and Black. The bike comes with a 6-speed manual transmission and belongs to the adventure series coming from Bajaj Pulsar.

The mileage factor in a Pulsar can only be seen if you ride the bike between a speed of 50-60 kmph, that too in the top gear for most of the time. In current traffic conditions, the same possibility is not possible practically. You should try to choose you daily route which gets less traffic, which directly means less braking. You should switch off the engine on traffic lights and clean your air filter and fuel delivery system at regular intervals. The bike should be driven with appropriate air pressure in the tyres as less would reduce mileage whereas more would reduce traction.

The Bajaj Pulsar AS200 would get more refined as its first 3 services are done. The vibrations are generally caused at higher rpm's and high speeds. The bike gets a refined engine in the form of 199.5 cc liquid cooled motor. You should not worry as frequent servicing would make the ride quality better day by day and the pickup would increase after the service also. The bike gets 18.3 NM of torque, making it good to accelerate the bike in 2nd gear. I own AS200. This bike is designed for adventure riding keeping in mind. This bike does not have any problems except company fitted Eurogrip tyres, which offers durability than grip. I will not say this is performance bike but this is Practical bike which you can use in any situations. This is a Best affordable commuter+touring machine.

According to me, every person changes his bike after 4-6 years. And I don't think this bike will give any problem till 5-6years. The major part of bikes is it's engine And AS200's engine is borrowed from 200NS & bajaj is saying that this is the best engine they have developed till now. If you see Royal Enfields engines, they are less reliable, even new bikes gives problems. also paint quality is poor. Some owners of Karizma are also mentioned that plastic started cracking after few months. You can google it. Hondas/Heros engines are smooth but fuel economy is less compared to bajaj bikes. AS200 has got power, technology, features, mileage. This is a complete value for money bike.
