How do Indian road conditions suit the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro?

For city riding, it's great. Super nimble in traffic. I once took it on a highway and it felt a bit unstable at higher speeds, but it worked. Definitely more of an urban commuter.

I believe people expect too much. This isn't an off road vehicle, it's an electric scooter. The Jaunty Pro can handle Indian roads for what it is. It's just a bit more careful then with a traditional scooter.

In my experience the tires are the weak point. On smooth roads they're fine, but I've had to replace one already after hitting a particularly nasty pothole. Wish they were more durable.

It actually handles waterlogged streets pretty good. The battery and motor are well protected. I just wish the mudguard was a bit bigger to stop splashing.

It's all about expectations. But if you're used to riding a high end motorcycle, yeah, the Jaunty Pro will feel a bit underwhelming on rough roads. It's pretty solid, but compared to other e scooters I've tried.
Does the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro’s battery swapping feature really work in the real world?
17 January 2025 08:40
At first, I did not believe, but battery swapping has been a game changer for me. I never worry about range because there’s a swap station near my office. It’s faster than filling up a petrol tank!
Does the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro’s battery swapping feature really work in the real world?
17 January 2025 08:40
In theory great, but in practice not so great. I don’t have enough swap stations in my area, so I end up charging at home most of the time. It is a nice backup option but not enough reliable to be main feature.
Does the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro’s battery swapping feature really work in the real world?
17 January 2025 08:40
The actual swapping process runs pretty smoothly, but battery performance has been somewhat inconsistent. I sometimes get a battery that doesn’t seem to hold as much charge as others. It's a bit of a lottery.
Does the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro’s battery swapping feature really work in the real world?

The idea is great, but I worry about what it will do to the batteries over the long term. Are all of them maintained in the same way? How do I avoid getting stuck with a dud? Amo needs to be more transparent about the management of its batteries.

Super convenient for me. I deliver food and swapping batteries during the day allows me to work longer shifts and not have downtime. It actually changed my earning potential.

I believe people are missing the environmental aspect. Battery swapping allows these batteries to be charged more efficiently and potentially with renewable energy in central locations. That's a big plus in my book.
Does the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro’s battery swapping feature really work in the real world?
17 January 2025 08:40
For it to truly be convenient, the cost of swapping has to come down. At the moment I find it cheaper to slow charge at home overnight. I would use the swapping feature more often if they priced it more competitively.
Does the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro’s battery swapping feature really work in the real world?

The one thing I wish was the swappable batteries were standardized across brands. It’s like being able to swap your Jaunty Pro battery at any e scooter station, brand be damned. That would be real convenience.
Is the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro 'pro' enough for daily commuting?
17 January 2025 08:40
I've been using the Jaunty Pro for my 20km round trip commute for the past 3 months and its been pretty solid. It’s got a decent range, and I only have to charge it every other day. The ride over pothole ridden Mumbai roads is better than I expected.
Is the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro 'pro' enough for daily commuting?
17 January 2025 08:40
It is a bit of a stretch to call it 'pro'. A good entry level e scooter with some features missing on more advanced models. The app connectivity is really hit or miss, as results will greatly vary between various locations and driving conditions, and the suspension isn't anything to write home about.
Is the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro 'pro' enough for daily commuting?
17 January 2025 08:40
I think it is a good value for the price point. It’s not top of the line, but for most urban commuters it does the trick. The scooter itself is pretty capable, but the "pro" might be marketing fluff.
Is the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro 'pro' enough for daily commuting?
17 January 2025 08:40
I disagree. I sent mine back after using it for a couple of weeks. I had trouble with the controller, and the battery life was inconsistent. I expected better quality control for a "pro" model.
Is the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro 'pro' enough for daily commuting?
17 January 2025 08:40
That really depends on how far you commute. It’s great for short trips on decent roads. If you’ll be dealing with longer distances or rough terrain you might want to look at other options.
Is the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro 'pro' enough for daily commuting?
17 January 2025 08:40
I think people get caught up in the 'pro' label too much. It’s a good mid range option with good features for price. And while a top spec scooter is not a necessity for everyone’s daily ride.
Is the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro 'pro' enough for daily commuting?
17 January 2025 08:40
For me it's "pro" because of the after sales service. When I’ve had problems, Amo Mobility has been really responsive. When you’re relying on it every day, that peace of mind is worth a lot.
