The Pulse was available with both petrol and diesel engines, with the 1.5-litre diesel engine being particularly praised for its driveability and performance. However, the petrol engine lacked ABS, which was a significant drawback. I believe adding ABS to the petrol variant could have improved its appeal.

Renault India has clarified that the Pulse and Scala models, although not listed on their website, have not been discontinued but will be produced on a made-to-order basis for customers who request them. This move is due to the low demand for these models in the Indian market. I think this strategy could help maintain customer satisfaction for those still interested in these cars.

Renault India stopped the production of the Pulse hatchback in July 2017 due to sluggish sales. The Pulse, which was essentially a rebadged Nissan Micra, saw only 1,759 units sold from June 2016 to May 2017. I believe the lack of significant updates and facelifts contributed to its poor sales performance.

Despite its good looks and driving pleasure, the Pulse struggled with resale value and had limited service centers, which were significant concerns for potential buyers. I think addressing these issues could have helped the car perform better in the market.

The Pulse received positive feedback for its interior space, boot space, and fuel efficiency, but critics noted that the cars ground clearance was not suitable for Indian roads. I believe improving the ground clearance would have made it more practical for local conditions.

Users praised the Pulse for its powerful engine, especially the 1.5-litre diesel, and its comfortable ride and handling. However, some suggested improvements in the interior look and the braking system. I think these are valid points that could have enhanced the overall driving experience.

In February 2015, Renault India launched a facelift of the Pulse, which included minor upgrades inside and out, along with the introduction of an automatic climate control system. The facelift was aimed at boosting the cars appeal in the competitive Indian market. I think these updates were a step in the right direction but perhaps came a bit too late.

Renault India temporarily suspended the production of the Pulse and Scala in February 2015 due to low demand. This decision was part of the companys strategy to manage inventory and production costs. I believe this was a necessary move to adjust to market conditions.

The Renault Pulse was recalled in 2012 due to an airbag flaw affecting 646 units of the Pulse and Scala. This recall was part of Renaults commitment to ensuring the safety of its vehicles. I think such proactive measures are crucial for maintaining customer trust.

The Renault Pulse was launched in India in January 2012 as a more upmarket version of the Nissan Micra. It was positioned as Renault’s most affordable car in India before the launch of the Kwid. I think the Pulse had a lot of potential but faced stiff competition in the compact car segment.
