Nissan India has introduced a new top-spec variant of the Evalia Diesel XV, priced at Rs 10.55 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This variant features sliding windows for the middle row, sliding/reclining captain seats, and 15-inch alloy wheels. It also includes a 2-din audio system with USB connectivity, rear wiper, rear defogger, and an anti-glare internal rear view mirror. I think these updates could make the Evalia more appealing in the competitive MPV segment.

The Nissan Evalia Diesel XV now comes with a roof-mounted second row AC blower as a direct dealer fitment option. This feature, along with the existing roof-mounted AC vents in the second and third rows, enhances the comfort for passengers. The engine remains the same 1.5-litre diesel mill producing 85PS and 200Nm of torque. I believe this addition will improve the overall passenger experience.

The Nissan Evalia Diesel XV continues to be powered by the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine, producing 85PS and 200Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This setup delivers a fuel efficiency of 19.3 kmpl, making it one of the more fuel-efficient options in its segment. I believe the engines performance is adequate but could use some refinement.

The Evalia Diesel XV is part of Nissans effort to enhance its presence in the MPV segment. Despite its spacious interior and decent feature list, the Evalia has struggled to sell in significant numbers. The new updates, including a rear wiper and rear defogger, are intended to make the vehicle more attractive to buyers. I think Nissan needs to focus more on marketing to change the publics perception.

Nissan has added several premium features to the Evalia Diesel XV, including a rear seat armrest, parking sensors, and a rear camera. These features are part of Nissans strategy to make the Evalia more competitive against rivals like the Toyota Innova and Tata Aria. I think these additions are a step in the right direction but more is needed to capture market share.

The Evalia Diesel XVs interior has been enhanced with features like tumble fold seats, rear AC vents, and a glove box lid. These updates are aimed at improving passenger comfort and convenience. However, the Evalia still faces stiff competition in the MPV segment. I believe that focusing on comfort and practicality is key to its success.

Nissan India has been working to revamp the Evalias image by introducing new variants and features. The Evalia Diesel XV, with its updated features, is a significant part of this strategy. Despite these efforts, the Evalia has not yet gained the traction Nissan hoped for. I think a stronger marketing campaign could help change this.

The Evalia Diesel XVs pricing starts at around Rs 10.43 lakh for the top variant, making it a competitive option in the MPV segment. However, its sales have been disappointing, and Nissan is looking to turn this around with the new updates. I believe the pricing is reasonable, but more needs to be done to attract buyers.
