The new Maruti Dzire, set to launch on November 11, 2024, will feature a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine, producing 80bhp and 112Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual or AMT transmission. This engine is borrowed from the 2024 Swift and is expected to offer enhanced fuel efficiency. I believe this new engine will be a significant upgrade, making the Dzire more appealing to both private buyers and fleet operators.

Maruti Suzuki has commenced bookings for the new Dzire, which will be available in four variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+. All variants will come equipped with the Idle Start-Stop (ISS) system and feature a segment-first electric sunroof, new LED headlamps, and a large freestanding touchscreen infotainment system. I think these additions will make the Dzire a strong contender in the subcompact sedan segment.

The 2024 Maruti Dzire will boast several segment-leading features, including a 360-degree camera, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, and cruise control. The interior will have a dual-tone black and beige theme with a multi-layered dashboard and improved upholstery. I believe these features will significantly enhance the driving and passenger experience.

The new Dzire is expected to have a slightly higher price range than the outgoing model, with an increase ranging from Rs 44,000 to Rs 1.12 lakh. The current Dzire is priced between Rs 6.56 lakh and Rs 9.38 lakh (ex-showroom). Given the significant upgrades, I think the new pricing is justified and will still be competitive in the market.

The upcoming Dzire will also focus on safety, with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, rear parking sensors, and a 3-point seatbelt for all passengers. The 360-degree camera will provide a complete view of the surroundings, a first in its segment. I believe these safety features will be a major selling point for the new Dzire.
