The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga ZXI Plus petrol variant is priced at Rs. 11.63 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and comes equipped with a 1462 cc K15C Smart Hybrid engine, producing 101.64 bhp and 136.8 Nm of torque. It features a 5-speed manual transmission, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, and a touchscreen infotainment system. This variant offers a balanced mix of performance and comfort, making it a solid choice for family cars. I think the additional features and spacious interior make it a great value for the price.

The Maruti Ertiga ZXI AT petrol variant is available at Rs. 12.33 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and boasts a 1462 cc engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It includes features like parking sensors, automatic climate control, and rear AC vents. The automatic transmission enhances the driving experience, especially in city traffic. I believe the convenience of the automatic gearbox makes this variant ideal for daily commutes.

The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, set to launch soon in India, will feature a 1.5-litre DualJet petrol engine and a conventional 4-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, but only in the petrol version. The diesel variant will not have an automatic gearbox and will be available only with a 5-speed manual transmission. This move aligns with Maruti Suzukis strategy to optimize engine options based on market demand. I believe this will appeal to those prioritizing ease of driving in urban conditions.

Maruti Suzuki has discontinued the 1.3-litre diesel engine in the Ertiga, replacing it with a 1.5-litre diesel engine developed in-house. This change is due to the financial impracticality of upgrading the older engine to meet BS6 emission norms. The new diesel engine offers better performance and efficiency. I think this move will improve the overall driving experience and fuel efficiency of the Ertiga.

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has seen significant sales growth, with the ZXI and ZXI+ variants constituting a large portion of the sales. The discontinuation of the base LXI and LDI variants means that the petrol Ertiga will now be offered with an optional automatic transmission across all trims. This strategic move is expected to boost sales further. I believe this will make the Ertiga more appealing to a wider range of buyers.
